TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – A Yemeni television station said on Tuesday that the country’s army had launched drone attacks on Saudi installations, without identifying the targets or time of the attacks.
Yemeni Al-Masirah news website reported that the army have executed a large military operation against Saudis vital targets using at least 7 Drones.
Quoting a military source, the report explained that “this wide military operation comes as a response to the aggression and the siege on the Yemeni People,” adding that the army is ready to execute more of these significant and hard strikes as long as the siege continues.
On Twitter, Al Masirah cited the official as saying, “This large military operation is in response to the continued aggression and blockade of our people and we are prepared to carry out more unique and harsh strikes.”
The Yemeni Army and Popular Committees have swiftly shifted from using small drones into developing a larger version of a “UAV-X” able to fly more than 1,400 km, making the Saudis and Emirates capitals within its fire range.
The Wall Street Journal has highlighted the increasing risk posed by Yemeni drones on the Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates that are leading a military coalition in Yemen since 26 March 2015.
“Yemeni Drones attacks on rivals are more accurate than officials have admitted WSJ reported.” Saudis and Emirates have tangibly invested in producing anti-UAV technology, a US official told the WSJ, but the relatively easy production of these weapons makes it difficult to combat them. The newspaper’s article corresponds to the statements of the leader of the Yemeni revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, who stressed earlier that Yemen’s military capabilities in the path of growth and development at all levels by land, sea and air.
