TEHRAN, Jan. 15 (Press Shia) – Iran’s Hassan Rouhani has received Albanian foreign minister to discuss prospects of improvements to bilateral trade.
Mr. Ditmir Bushati arrived in Tehran on Saturday heading a trade delegation to Tehran. This is the latest European delegation which visits Iran in pursuit of trade and investment opportunities opened to the world by virtue of the JCPOA.
Mr. Rouhani received Mr. Bushati’s condolences offered on the death of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani earlier last week; “Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani was a figure of immensely deep vision for the welfare of the whole planet,” Rouhani told the meeting, turning to prospects of trade with Albania especially after the JCPOA where Iran had been the destination of many delegations. “Iran welcomes boosting ties with Tirana; both countries have excellent grounds on which to cooperate in realization of trade and economic objectives,” Mr. Rouhani told the meeting.
Rouhani also turned to terrorism as a global threat which had gone beyond political borders on which all countries should act to tackle extremism and violence, and to which the Islamic Republic of Iran contributed; “we welcome stability in the Balkans and would join efforts to bring peace to the areas of conflict, in framework of cooperation with countries of the region, especially with Albania,” he added.
Mr. Bushati for his part shared Rouhani’s view that terrorism was a threat to international peace; “we thing the horizons have already been transparent for ties with Iran to be improved; we are resolved to develop a strong relations with Tehran and provide a bedrock on which to move forward in trade and cultural relations,” he briefly said.
