TEHRAN (Press Shia) – The secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement said the resistance camp is being besieged by the US, Israel and their cronies in the region.
“We are in the middle of a big battle and our camp is being besieged by the US and Israel,” Seyed Hasan Nasrallah said Monday evening, on the eve of Ashura that marks the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shiite Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).
“Today, the US, Israel, and their tools are trying to besiege our camp. The leader of this camp is Imam (Ayatollah Seyed) Ali Khamenei and the center of this camp is the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he stated, according to Al-Manar TV.
“This is our camp, and this is our Imam, our leader, and (Imam) Hussein (AS) of this era. In this battle there is no place for neutrality. You are either with Hussein or you are with Yazid. The battle is renewed and so is the confrontation,” he added.
The Hezbollah leader called for massive participation in mourning rituals marking Ashura in the Southern Suburb of Beirut on Tuesday to pledge allegiance to Imam Hussein and to “tell Netanyahu, the Zionists, and all the conspirators against us: We are a people whose will, determination, and faith are not influenced by a siege, starving, thirst, fear or war.”
“If our Husseini leader came out to tell us that you are free to leave, our response will be: By Allah, O master and leader, if we are to be killed, all of us… we shall never leave you o son of Hussein,” he concluded.
The remarks came against the backdrop of Hezbollah’s recent response to Israeli attacks and incursions into Lebanon.
In its latest move against such violations of the Lebanese territory, Hezbollah shot down an Israeli unmanned aircraft outside the southern town of Ramyah.
Hezbollah said its air defense forces shot down the aircraft early Monday as it crossed the border between Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian lands.
Tension ran high after Israel targeted Hezbollah’s positions in Syria’s capital Damascus on August 24, killing two members of the movement.
A day later, Hezbollah said two Israeli drones had been destroyed near Beirut.
Hezbollah pledged a swift response along the border and said that it would also shoot down any intruding Israeli drone in the future.
