RNA – Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mohammad Hoseyni-Shahroudi, the representative of the ‎Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran’s western Kordestan province, offered his ‎congratulations on the auspicious month of Rabi al-Awwal and the birth anniversary of the ‎Prophet Muhammad to all Muslims in the Islamic world, and said it was necessary to protect ‎the unity of Muslims and said, “Unity causes dignity, greatness and prosperity for any ‎country and divisions and differences weaken the power of the country.” ‎

He considered Kordestan province, which has a predominantly Sunni population, as an ‎embodiment of the unity of Iran and added, “The enemies are seeking to divide Muslims, ‎but they are prevented from doing so through the unity and brotherhood of the different ‎classes of understanding people. The awareness and insight of the people of the country ‎and Kordestan province is becoming greater and greater every day.”‎

Islamic Unity Week refers to a ceremony held every year both by Sunnis and Shi’ah Muslims. ‎The event is held between two dates of the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad in ‎Islamic narrations. One of the dates is narrated by Sunnis and the other narrated by Shi’ahs.‎
