The head of the Jurisprudence Association of the Islamic Seminaries of Qom considered the ‎bitter silence of those with vested interests as one of the factors in the persistence of the ‎sedition of 2009 and considered insight as the key to overcoming acts of sedition.‎

RNA – Speaking during his dars al-kharij class in Qom on December 30th, Hujjat al-Islam ‎Sayyed Sadeq Mohammadi, the head of the Jurisprudence Association of the Islamic ‎Seminaries of Qom, commemorated the ninth anniversary of the 9th of Dey ‎[December 30th] ‎demonstrations, which marks the anniversary of the date when ‎millions of people went to ‎the streets on December 30, 2009 to demonstrate their ‎support for the Islamic ‎establishment after the post-election riots.‎

The renowned teacher in the Islamic Seminaries of Qom presented his opinions on the ‎dimensions of this epic and the sedition of 2009 and stated, “This sedition was the result of ‎sedition, hesitation and hypocrisy by some vested interests and considered the bitter silence ‎by these vested interests before this movement as among the factors in the continuation of ‎this sedition.”‎
‎ ‎
He celebrated the creation of the epic and the insight of the people on the 9th of Dey and ‎described the presence of the people as the end of the fire of sedition and said, “After the ‎events of the 9th of Dey, some people took a stand against the sedition and engaged in ‎clarifying the issue.”‎
‎ ‎
Hujjat al-Islam Mohammadi continued, “Some people were silent and were satisfied with the ‎deviated movement. Other people might not have been satisfied but remained silent and ‎unquestioning due to personal interests, worldly matters and other issues.”‎
‎ ‎
His Eminence added, “Many may have ignored the saying of Imam Ali wherein he stated ‎‎‘during sedition be like an adolescent camel who has neither a back strong enough for riding ‎nor udders for milking’ and took seclusion as their path.”‎
‎ ‎
He referred to the story of the people of Thamud and the Prophet Salih in the verses of the ‎Quran and said, “The word ‘fa‘aqaruha’ [‘and they hamstrung her [the she-camel]’ appears at ‎least three times in the Holy Quran, in Surah Hud [11:65], in in Surah al-Shams [91:14] and in ‎Surah al-Shu’ara [26:157].”‎
‎ ‎
Hujjat al-Islam Mohammadi added, “The cause of the great punishment by God Almighty ‎was that the people of Prophet Salih were satisfied with the action of that single person ‎‎[who hamstrung the she-camel] and it’s necessary for those who were cautious and those ‎who secluded themselves in a doubtful manner to change their ways and increase their ‎awareness.”‎
