TEHRAN (Press Shia Agency) – The Secretariat of the International Conference on Supporting Palestinian Intifada (Uprising) at the Iranian Parliament condemned as “theatrical” a recent gathering held by the Israeli regime in the occupied Jerusalem al-Quds to commemorate the Holocaust.
“The Secretariat of the International Conference on Supporting Palestinian Intifada condemns the recent theatrical Holocaust session in Quds as a Zionist-American move to mock the realities and the world’s public opinion,” the parliamentary body said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The US and some European countries with a history of colonialism are well aware that the real holocaust has been carried out by the Zionists against the oppressed nation of Palestine and has been going on before the eyes of the world for decades,” it added.
“Millions of defenseless Palestinians, especially women and children, have been killed, injured and displaced by the Zionist, and tens of thousands of Palestinians, even children, are imprisoned in horrible Zionist prisons,” the statement read.
The secretariat also deplored the recent meeting in Quds on as “theatrical” and said Iran’s proposed plan to hold a referendum in the occupied territories, not the Trump administration’s so-called “deal of century”, is the only solution to the current crisis.
Dozens of monarchs, presidents and prime ministers travelled to al-Quds to attend a gathering on the Holocaust on Thursday.
The deal of century ploy, fronted by US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, has already been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the White House’s policies have been blatantly biased in favor of Israel.
Palestinians have cut off all contacts with the Trump administration since the US president broke with decades of bipartisan policy to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of Israel in December 2017.
In June 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei reiterated the need for a referendum among “true Palestinians of all faiths,” being Muslims, Christians or Jews, adding that such a move would lead to the establishment of the Palestinian government.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the referendum and the subsequent formation of such a governing system would eventually translate into the destruction of the “bogus regime” of Israel in the not-too-distant future.
