CARACAS, Jan. 30 (Press Shia Agency) – The Venezuelan opposition to the constitutional government of Nicolas Maduro is now preparing proposals to get continue entering and leaving the talks facilitated by the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) together with other international institutions and actors.
Jesus “Chuo” Torrealba, executive secretary of the so-called Mesa de la Unidad Democratica (Table for Democratic Unity, MUD) assured they are working to elaborate an alternative document with points and aspects on the talks.
Nuncio Aldo Giordano, a representative of Pope Francis in this process, assured this document is a working document, made to call for reflexion and guidelines.
But up to now, the line followed by the opposition parties and movements, is to try to disrupt the negotiation process.
The representative of the Pope in the process, made sure that ‘the document that was delivered, is a work document because we think that the protagonists of the dialogue are the Venezuelans and our document is offered mainly to call for reflections on both sides.”
Some days ago, the mayor of the municipality Sucre, Carlos Ocariz, expressed that the document presented for the mediators would not be signed by the alliance, to its judgment, it is necessary to do modifications.
Nobody denied this right that is rather the position of the facilitators and of the government who call one after others to the dialogue and negotiations.
According to the president of the Union of Southeren Nations (Unasur), Ernesto Samper, who will leave his post next Tuesday, despite the difficulties thanks to the dialogue till now Venezuela avoid the violence, confidence was generated and approximately 80 people arrested were liberated, although some in the MUD were opposed to it.
There are so many contradictions inside the opposition that its actions show lack of seriousness and steadfastness.
