MOSCOW, Jan. 30 (Press Shia) – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to meet with US President Donald Trump ahead of a July 7-8 G20 summit in Hamburg.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to meet with US President Donald Trump ahead of a July 7-8 G20 summit in Hamburg, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.

“Most likely, yes,” Peskov told reporters during the daily briefing when asked whether Putin would meet Trump ahead of the summit.

According to Peskov, Moscow hopes that the presidents’ aides will expediently work on the issue of the personal meeting between Putin and Trump.

“The aides will engage in this issue without procrastination in order to make proposals to the presidents regarding the place and date,” Peskov added.

Earlier in January, Trump said he expected to hold talks with Putin soon.

The two leaders held their first official phone conversation on Saturday, during which they discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Arab-Israeli conflict, anti-terror efforts, the sphere of strategic stability and non-proliferation, the Iranian nuclear program, the situation on the Korean peninsula as well as the situation in eastern Ukraine.
