TEHRAN, Feb. 05 (Press Shia Agency) – Pakistan’s embassy in Tehran has held a ceremony to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day (February 5) to which Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain sent messages.
The ongoinng crisis in the Jammu and Kashmir had been continuing for 70 years and India and Pakistan had accused one another of violations of human rights. Pakistani officials especially in the report, use harsh language and condemnation to present a grim image of the situation for which they implicate India as the culprit.
The message by Mr. Hussain reaffirmed Pakistani people’s ‘continued and resolute moral, diplomatic and political support to the oppressed people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoK) in their valiant struggle for the fundamental right to self-determination.’
The message also implicated India of denying people of Jammu and Kashmir the right to self-determination for the last seven decades, thus subjecting them to the worst human rights violations and oppression.
“Pakistan calls upon the international community to be cognizant of its responsibilities in the matter and urges it to demand an independent investigation into the ongoing gross human rights violations in IoK by Indian occupation forces and to fulfill its obligations under UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir,” the message read.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also shared the same mentality with President Hussain; “for the last seven decades, India has denied the valiant people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir the right to self-determination promised to them by the international community through UN Security Council resolutions,” said the message.
“The Jammu and Kashmir dispute is the unfinished agenda of Partition and remains one of the oldest disputes in the UN Security Council. Pakistan strongly condemns the systemic state terrorism and brutal killings of the innocent people in IoK by Indian occupation forces. Use of pellet guns has permanently blinded more than 150 people including women and young children. The basic human rights of the innocent people of IoK including the right to life and peaceful assembly have been grossly violated by Indian occupation forces. Senior Hurriyat leadership has been arrested or placed under house detention. Within the last few months, around 12,000 people were illegally detained without any charges,” the message read about recent developments in the region.
