TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (Press Shia) – Lebanese Parl. Speaker Nabih Berri called on Arab and Muslim countries to stand against the relocation of the US embassy to Tel Aviv by shutting down their embassies in Washington.

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri made the remark in his address at the 6th International Conference on Palestine’s Intifada that convened on Tuesday in Tehran; “It is high time we put our decisions into action and reached consensus on the issue of Palestine,” he stressed.

He highlighted the significance of national unity in Palestine among all the factions, adding “The first recommendation to consider is that there should be a unity among Palestinians, because further steps would have no meaning if Palestinians did not unite among themselves.”

“There needs to be a united Palestinian government to look to the needs of their people and address issues such as al-Quds, and take steps according to agreements of reconciliation in helping Gaza to rebuild itself and unify the legislative council,” he added.

He further hailed the Russian efforts in having united the Palestinian factions for the second time, as well as the Egyptian and Algerian efforts in this regard.

He put further emphasis on unity among all Arab and Muslim countries, and warned against sectarian or racial stances that would create division, and called for a political solution to the crises currently grappling Syria and Iraq.

“Iran is being targeted for supporting Palestine and its Intifada,” he said.

Berri also commended Tehran conference on Palestine as a valuable opportunity to further invigorate resistance against the Israeli regime.
