TEHRAN, Feb. 22 (Press Shia Agency) – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Gاasemi, pointing to President Hassan Rouhani’s last week visit to Oman and Kuwait, said Tehran is ready to boost interaction with Persian Gulf littoral states.
“Rouhani’s visit to Kuwait and Oman was a sign of Iran’s good will and indicative of regional states’ interest to have balanced and reasonable ties with Iran,” Ghasemi said in an interview with Press Shia on Tuesday.
Pointing to the latest achievements of President Rouhani’s visit to the two Persian Gulf countries, Ghasemi said the trip reveals Iran’s determination to promote bilateral relations with its southern neighbors and boost interaction and dialogue in present system of international relations.
The visits were upon the invitation of Sultan Qaboos of Oman and the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah and indicates that Iran is ready to improve its interaction with all countries in the Persian Gulf region upon their own will and readiness, he noted.
“Iran seeks constructive and logical interaction with all neighboring countries, a principle which never changes, in case they also show necessary interest and seriousness,” said Ghasemi asked about Iran’s clear response to the repeated and equivocal statements of Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister.
He urged regional states to adopt policies based on collective cooperation in the Persian Gulf region to ensure security and solve regional issues.
