TEHRAN, Feb. 27 (Press Shia) – Iran has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Syria’s Homs on Feb. 25 where Jabhat al-Nusra’s Takfiri terrorists killed at least 42 people and injured dozens of others.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi while voicing his strong condemnation over the series of attacks on headquarters of the governmental forces in Syria’s Homs (165km from Damascus), expressed his deepest sympathy to the Syrian government, nation and families of victims of this great tragedy.
“No doubt, the attacks were carried out with an aim to disrupt the process of peace talks and undermine the achievement of any possible agreement,” Ghasemi said, while calling on all Syrian sides to remain vigilant in this sensitive period of time where Syrian government and the opposition groups are trying to reach an agreement for ending the crisis in the war-torn country.
Ghasemi went on to stress, “the world undoubtedly has no other way in the face of such terrorist attacks but to move toward a comprehensive and all-out fight against terrorism on political and cultural levels together with military measures.”
“The fight to eradicate the roots of terrorism and extremism in the region and across the world needs international resolution and consensus,” he stressed.
In a series of six suicide bombings on headquarters of the governmental forces in Syria’s Homs on Saturday, at least 42 people lost their lives and dozens of others were injured. Two Syrian commanders are reportedly among the dead. Takfiri terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
