Press Shia – Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq said that compared to Hezbollah’s position after the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah War, its power increased in such a way that Israel has become terrified of its growing military power.
Press Shia Agency – Speaking during a memorial service held in the southern Lebanese town of Tibnin, Hujjat al-Islam Nabil Qawouq, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, referred to Hezbollah and said that since the Israel invasion of Lebanon in 1982, the Islamic Resistance has been the target of the United States’ threats and has always been threatened by sanctions.
The Lebanese Shi’ah cleric said that despite all these threats, the sanctions have failed because the Resistance has continued on the path of development and has achieved successive victories.
“Now, we say that [US President Donald] Trump cannot engage in the same measures that his processors, including [George W.] Bush and [Bill] Clinton,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq stated that the Islamic Resistance of today has become a strong fortress and in terms of popularity, its political and military position has grown and compared to its position after the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah War, its power increased in such a way that the Zionist enemies, who speak of breaking the regional balance speaks, are terrified of the growing military power of the Resistance.
“Today, the Resistance enjoys widespread political approval amongst the authorities and people of Lebanon as well as throughout the region, especially after the enemies’ efforts to separate the people from the Resistance,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq said that the Lebanese has witnessed a drop in optimism and pessimism due to the adoption of illogical and polarizing policies by some political powers and procrastination in regard to certain actions.
The senior Hezbollah official added, “Such an atmosphere is what led the country into the final stage of determining a new electoral law. If officials continue such actions, another political crisis, woes and political separatism will return to the country.”
He added that the only solution that can save the country is to agree on a new electoral law that is based on proportional, legitimate and fair representation.
Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq said that the Lebanese people are worried about such policies which focus on exclusivity and lack of true partnership because those who haven’t accepted the new electoral law of proportional representation, have in fact, announced their rejection of a position based on practical and real partnership and have thus, led Lebanon into a difficult condition.
