TEHRAN, Mar. 03 (Press Shia Agency) – The Head of Iran’s Academy of Persian Language and Literature Gholamali Haddad Adel, who is visiting New Delhi met with Indian Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Thursday.
“Cultural relations between Iran and India are very old and the cultural and lingual roots of commonalities have affected political and economic ties,” said Indian Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Thursday while receiving Gholamali Haddad Adel in New Delhi.
Mr. Haddad Adel, who also serves as a top advisor to Iran’s Leader, is visiting India to participate at an international three-day conference on Iranian studies which began in the Indian capital on Wednesday. The event is attended by 140 Persian language scholars from Iran, Tajikistan, India and Afghanistan.
The two officials exchanged views, during the two-hour talk, on issues including terrorism and counter-terrorism in Western and Southern Asia, Persian language and its development in the Indian subcontinent, and cultural interactions between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Haddad Adel invited the top Indian officials to travel to Iran to earn a better understanding of Iran and its developments and advancements during the recent years to pave the way for more interactions and cooperation.
