Press Shia – The head of Pakistan’s Council of Shi’ah Clerics condemned the Zionist regime’s legislation to ban the broadcast the call to prayer in occupied Palestine.
Press Shia Agency – In a meeting with members of Pakistan’s Council of Shi’ah Clerics in the city of Lahore on Friday, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Haydar Sibtayn Sabzewari, the head of the Council of Shi’ah Clerics in Pakistan’s southern province of Sindh, strongly condemned the Israel Knesset’s approval of a draft law banning the broadcast of the adhan, or call to prayer, from loudspeakers at mosques in occupied Palestine and called on the Zionist regime to abolition this law.
The Pakistani Shi’ah cleric stated that the ban on broadcasting the call to prayer represents the Islamophobic nature of the Zionist regime and added, “The United States, the Zionist regime and Western governments are applying various methods against Islam and this is one of them.”
Hujjat al-Islam Sabzewari stressed that this discriminatory treatment of Muslims is contrary to international law, human rights and democracy and added, “Why have Western governments, which consider themselves as the flagbearers of democracy and religious freedom in the world, been silent in the face of such a tragedy?”
In other remarks, he said that the new version of so-called “Muslim Ban” law implemented by US President Donald Trump, which bans the citizens of six predominantly Muslim countries from entering the US, demonstrates the true nature of the US government and shows how much they hate and are prejudiced against Islam and Muslims.
His Eminence said that Islam is the most popular and most complete religion and said, “Faith in the prophets, including Moses and Jesus, is a part of Islam and if someone does not believe in their prophecy, they have left the religious of Islam.”
Hujjat al-Islam Sabzewari said that the ban on the broadcast of the call to prayer demonstrates the fear of Islam by the Zionist regime and added, “The final victory will be with the Palestinian people just as the [Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution] Ayatollah Khamenei has said, ‘Victory for Palestine is near.’”
Last Wednesday, the Israeli parliament, Knesset, gave its preliminary approval to a bill that would silence mosques. The “muezzin” bill was passed in the preliminary reading by 55-48 votes.
