TEHRAN, Mar. 25 (Press Shia) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani sent a message of congratulations to his Greek counterpart Prokopis Pavlopoulos on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day on March 25.
In a message to President of Greece Prokopis Pavlopoulos, Iran’s Rouhani congratulated the nation and government of the southeastern European country on the 196th anniversary of Greek independence.
The Iranian president expressed hope that in the light of good efforts of Iranian and Greek officials and the ample capacities and opportunities, cooperation and mutual relations would be further expanded in line with interests of the two friendly countries.
The Iranian President further wished health and success for his Greek counterpart as well as progress and prosperity for the people of Greece.
The Greek Revolution, also known as Greek War of Independence, which freed the country from the Ottoman Empire in 1821, is celebrated by the modern Greek state as a national day on 25 March.
